“Dance when you’re broken open. Dance if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you’re perfectly free.” - Rumi

Andi Abernathy & Steph Ruth

Andi and Steph were born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. They, as sisters, have had a tight-knit bond between them their whole lives, and a true passion for the art of dance. They both grew up training in greater Kansas City and then went on to further their education and pursue dance degrees in Modern Dance as graduates of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance. They have been rewarded on numerous occasions for their innovative, dynamic, emotional choreography both on a regional and national level. They are so honored and thrilled to be able to explore their passion for molding phenomenal dancers to continue on as professionals with their own pre-professional dance company, Artists Revealed Dance Company. Their mission with Artists Revealed is to pave a path for dancers to travel down a professional path of dance, whether it be contracting with a professional concert dance company, or working toward a college degree from a dance conservatory within a university. It is the most fulfilling aspect of their lives, as they have already trained many dancers throughout their careers that have gone on to become very successful artists who are a part of such programs as USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Chapman University, Pace University, Southern Methodist University, and the hit television show “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing with the Stars.” They have had the privilege of teaching for many outstanding companies all over Kansas City including the Kansas City Ballet, UMKC, and Defy Dance Project. They have also choreographed works for “A Modern Night at the Folly,” Kansas City Ballet “New Moves,” “Dance in the Park,” KC Fringe Festival – “Synergy,” Soul de Soul Dance Convention, “Open Stage at the J”, and have been featured on KCPT’s “Arts Upload” television show. Andi & Steph have identified dance as their personal heartline; their reason for being, what keeps them feeling alive, and now they want to share their passion with their community.
